Last week my husband and I had our wedding in Death Valley. We stayed at the Inn and I could not have been happier with our experience. The staff at death valley could ONLY be described as gracious, accommodating and helpful. The hotel manager John, the event coordinator Lisa, the pastry chef Miranda and the other staff Josie and Mike were incredible and made our special weekend unforgettable.

The Inn as a whole is a beautiful property. To set expectations, it is an older building with a western charm. The wifi is a bit sketchy but since it is in the middle of the desert, the expectations should be lower. We stayed in the suite off of the star gazer terrace and it was incredible. The terrace made the experience 100% more special.

We had our reception dinner on the terrace and it could not be described as anything but magical.

Our actual wedding was in the park and I can not wait for the photographers pictures to come out. Death valley is such a special place.

Thanks so much to The Inn at Death Valley for making our wedding day so special!

I recently stayed at the Death Valley Inn and while I loved the scenery, sunrises, sunsets, and the private patio overlooking the green grass, I was disappointed by the quality of the food at the restaurant. Despite the amazing stay and beautiful condo, I cannot give the Inn a five-star rating due to the restaurant.
In particular, I was very finicky about my coffee and never drink hotel/room coffee. I went twice to get breakfast at the restaurant and was disappointed to find that the coffee was warm and barely brown. It was clear that they were making it in big quantities. Additionally, I ordered crepes and couldn't eat them all because the taste was funny. When I asked what oil they had been using, I was told olive and soy oils, but it tasted like canola or vegetable oil. As someone who doesn't consume soy products, I think it's important for the restaurant to notify people which oil they're using. The greasy taste of the food made me feel sick and I paid nearly $40 with tips for a breakfast that I couldn't finish.
Overall, while the stay at the Death Valley Inn was amazing, the restaurant food and prices were disappointing. If you're a picky eater or care about the quality of your food, I'd recommend looking elsewhere for breakfast or dining options.
Spa was an amazing experience, I picked Aloe Sol package and wasn’t disappointed.
Pool was great and Alahna was outstanding to make sure we are all good.
I won’t complain about huge cockroach 🪳 at the pool bathroom…after all we are in the desert, right 🤭

We stayed Father's day weekend and had a blast. The death valley sites are easy to get to from the location. The Inn seemed for more of a secluded stay versus the Ranch, where most of the shops and things to do are. The Inn was the best choice for us. The Oasis Garden is awesome. Here is a secret no one told us. You can see the Milky Way cloud accross the sky. Walk out to the middle of the Garden and lay of the grass. You can see every star in the sky. We recommend 1 in the morning. Fair warning it is dark here and why you you can all the stars. They do have a star gazing deck if you want to feel more comfortable. However, your eye well need to adjust so allow 20 minutes for that. We loved it!

We couldn't wait to get out of this place.

If I had to pinpoint one thing that lets the Inn at Death Valley down it's the food, but in reality there are a whole raft of factors that contribute to it being one of the worst hotels we've ever stayed in.

It didn't ought to be that way. The location is amazing, the pool and grounds are really great and we desperately wanted to like it.

Unfortunately nothing else matched either our expectations or our experience of other US hotels on our 6 stop trip from San Francisco to the Grand Canyon.

To list a few things, the reception staff were stressed and unwelcoming. The bell hop clearly indicated that he thought we were better off carrying our bags down the stairs than him doing it for us. The room was tiny and the extra bed for our daughter, which wasn't there when we arrived, could only just fit in. The air conditioning made little impact on the room temperature, despite it being only April. The terrace was closed due to lack of staff and then there was the food.... Really? I'm guessing there is no head chef at this place because if there was they would be too embarrassed to serve such dreadful food at such outrageous prices.

The next day at breakfast there was no proper coffee, or various other things on the menu and no apology either. The waiter was flippant, bordering on rude, and again, the food was at best mediocre and overpriced.

I feel sad for the staff having to work in a system that clearly tolerates such low standards.

As for the managers, they need to urgently go and experience other hotels in California and beyond. Hopefully it would really open their eyes to the standards others are achieving.

Thankfully Death Valley itself is amazing! Absolutely loved it.

This is such a unique experience to stay in a real oasis in the midst of a rather inhospitable environment.
The 1930s charm, the pool that is fed by hot spring water, the staff, and above all, the views make it well worth the price premium to stay at the inn.

Big shout out to Mike at the Inns Lounge and the entire bell staff who made the experience memorable.
