Cortez Motel

Comfortable beds and all sky channels,but rooms are in need of an upgrade .
Service was lacking.had to ask for milk and only one fork in the cutlery tray. we stayed two nights,and our room was not cleaned properly on the second day.
No fresh towels and once again had to ask for toilet paper and face cloths.
Really disappointing 😔
We won't be back!

It served as the perfect base for our Taupo trip, where we stayed for two nights and explored the surrounding area. The convenience of the town was a pleasant surprise, with a Countdown supermarket open until 10pm, making our stay even more convenient. The inn itself offers spacious rooms equipped with a kitchen and all the necessary utensils, bowls, and glasses. Although there is no air conditioning, they provide a heater and fan for comfort. The separate shower and toilet ensure a dry bathroom experience. While the swimming pool is closed during winter, the ample parking spaces and the friendly and helpful staff make up for it.

We were very pleasantly surprised with Cortez. The pricing was very reasonable, we anticipated the quality would be lower. Rooms were lovely and clean and surpsingly spacious, grounds were well taken care of and the pool was very nice. Even had a good amount of toys and equipment for the kids. Staff were all fantastic, friendly and helpful.

Would recommend.

To be honest from the front the motel doesn't look the newest but staf were welcoming and friendly the rooms are some of the cleanest I have been in for a long time. Studio has everything thing you need and spacious. Will definitely stay again.
