Barcelona Motel

I see things still haven't changed. Stayed there a while back and it's was disgusting.

We stayed in a lovely family room for 5.

Awesome service from our hosts who quickly remedied our not working electric blanket with a new one and power for our tv with a new multi plug adaptor.

Clean room, with clean linen and towels, warmed up nice and quick with the supplied heaters.

Our girls enjoyed their stay playing on the playground.

And everyone had a good sleep!

No towels when we stayed the first night, cockroach in the bathroom and heaters were noisy and faulty. Our first night was terrible, we were distraught and not happy with the room.

By far the worst motel I've stayed at. Price was good for time of year and on short notice but room was smelly, carpet was stained, I had to be forced to sleep in the bed by my partner as we had been travelling many hour's. The room was in a bad state of repair and in need of some much required renovations to bring it up to an acceptable condition. As we had already paid and did have prior plans for the next day I reluctantly saw the night through until the morning but packed the car and got out of there as early as possible leaving with a sick feeling in my throat vowing never to return to such a dump even if it was the last motel room available.

We got there and they had a sign up that they would be back in 20 minutes. Waited 30 minutes before calling them so I could check in (at 4pm) and it was another 10-15 minutes before they came. Nobody mans the reception so you have to ring the bell, which is loud and annoying when your room is behind the office. We took our dog, but weren't advised when we booked that it would be a $30 charge for having our dog (which is the most expensive I've come across) AND that we had to also pay a $100 deposit for the dog and would get a refund the next day. This was not explained on the website or their messages until I was checking in, so couldn't cancel. I didn't have enough to pay for this extra cost as it was our last stop before travelling home as our first booking had been cancelled by the other motel, so I had to use a family members card to pay the deposit. The room was comfy but beds were too soft, we got no soap bars or shampoo which is unusual for a motel room. There was what looked like a pool but you couldn't use it. I never leave bad reviews but this experience is worth noting for other pet owners.
