The Barn

One of the best campgrounds we visited during our trip in New Zealand.

The place is well located, close to the water taxi for Abel Tasman National park.

The facilities are nice and clean, the kitchen is really big and well equipped. The atmosphere is lovely in general.

The staff is nice, they even offer yoga classes a few days per week, for only 10$ for a one and a half hour session, facing the sea.

Great location. We just felt uncomfortable with the locals who stay there, they stared a lot and that was weird.... Made us feel like we. Weren't supposed to be in the movie room..

The kitchen is tiny. There were around 10 people in it in the off season which is a surprise. It seems like everyone was cooking for a family of five. Lovely front desk service, thanks for hospitality.

It was fine, but we felt it was expensive for what you get. Cabin was fine, comfortable beds and bedding. Could do with a few extra plug sockets and a drying rack/hooks (rather than signs everywhere telling you not to dry your clothes or towel on the curtain rail - not really sure where we're meant to hang towels). The campsite was full so bathrooms weren't that clean. Kitchens were fine too, but not that much cooking equipment/crockery available for those that don't have their own. Main pro for this place is the friendly staff in the office, super helpful and approachable.

We enjoyed our stay as a family of 5. Room was spacious, beds were super comfy, Kitchen is well equipped. The staff in the office was very helpful. Yes it was busy with the shower/toilet situation but I'd still come back :))

I enjoyed my time at the Barn! I ended up staying for one night in early 2021 and ended up staying longer than I thought! This was a really amazing time for me here! I felt like the staff there were super helpful and friendly and made me feel welcome a lot!! And to make things better the view was to die for around the Abel Tasman. I had a lot of great adventures staying here! I would totally recommend anyone staying here 😊 I can’t wait to return again sometime in the future 😊 oh and also the resident cat Moo was such a cute addition to the campground ⛺️
