The Bay Lodge

Deserves 10/5 stars. We’ve travelled NZ about as much as the hosts Sonya and Filip have and can say this is without question the best place we’ve stayed. They’ve really thought of every detail, the hospitality and service are top notch as are the views and the easy walk down to Pohara and the beach. The rates are extremely reasonable for what you get in return (other establishments we’ve been to would charge twice and provide half the service and quality). Will no doubt be returning!

You would call this place “ perfection “ in terms of the bay view, cleanliness, hospitality, interior decor, garden and all.

The service is rather professional with a warm personal touch. We didn’t expect a beautiful home baked cake after a big day exploring in Golden bay.

The garden has a touch of tropical Balinese feel, which adds so much character to the bay lodge.

Watching the stars in the spa is luxury after a day’s walking on the beach.

We are leaving tomorrow but will stay here again when returning to Able Tasman next time.

Beyond Perfect in Golden Bay
Our visit to The Bay lodge was beyond perfect. Sonya and Filip thought of every detail when creating this special piece of paradise. Aside from the great location and stunning view across Golden Bay, the room is beautifully decorated with absolutely everything you could want and more. We enjoyed wonderful breakfast baskets, received tips on where to visit and explore, and helpful advice on tides. We would strongly recommend this to anyone looking for outstanding accommodation in Golden Bay. Thank you Sonya and Filip for helping to make our trip extra special.
