Pioneer Hotel

Good old-fashioned hospitality and great food. Walked in on a busy Saturday evening without a booking, and they were able to accommodate us and get us a table after a short wait. Highly recommend, and we will visit again on our next trip to NZ.

Had beautiful meal here. Fantastic meal, fantastic service a definite place to dine or even have a few drinks lovely pub great atmosphere.

Exceeded expectations! Really cute rooms with a lot of amenities including toiletries, tv, towels. Breakfast area with microwave and billi. VERY clean rooms, hotel and bathrooms! Highly recommend to stay here, we did not check in until late either but they waited up for us and weren't mad! Will defo stay again

Rooms very clean, shared toilets and showers very clean.
On check in the gentleman was not friendly, tried to charge us again when we had already paid, no apology when realised his error. No offer of info regarding food or opening hours of bar/restaurant.
When I politely asked would you like us to wait till 2pm to check in he was downright rude in his reply. Yes I do realise 2p.m. Is industry standard. Politenesses and friendliness are too!
We had planned to eat and drink there but due to the poor welcome we went elsewhere.

I was superbly looked after by fantastic people where nothing was too much trouble. The food was great and the friendly vibe in the bar with the live music was awesome.
