Sunset Motels

The room is large and the view is also stunning. The owners of the place are a Chinese family and the man that was there when we arrived doesn’t know a word of English. He called someone and she translated because we had a problem with the shower, there is no flow in the water, and no hot water in room 10- a nightmare. We moved to another room, we had hot water in the shower ☺️but no heat in the room 😢- the radiator keep shutting down. And in the fridge we found 2 dead bugs 😱
They were very nice but unfortunately the place needs to be better entertained - the view is not enough.

Amazing views from the room and location. Good equipped kitchen and comfortable bed. But it’s very very old and the smell was very bad. I am not a fan of open bed sheets that are open. Water is not safe and need to be boiled. Overall, ok for a short stay.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here, staff were very accomodating and helpful. Pointing me the nearby sights and what to do even though I arrived a little late that day.
I very much recommend this place to stay if you’re visiting glacier country. The glacier itself, well I didn’t really get to see or experience it and I don’t think I will try to again. The drive was long a treacherous to get here and you’re basically on a farm next to a mountain, so not much to see or do for me personally.
Sunset motel was a fantastic stay though, clean rooms nestled in a quiet space with a great view.

Nice motel on edge of Fox Glacier village. Our room was well equipped and had a view out to the mountains and access to communal garden. Has kitchen with microwave, sink, hob, kettle and fridge. Very clean and everything worked ok. WiFi is provided but was intermittent. Only reason for not awarding 5 stars is that the motel is quite dated and a little tired and could do with refurbishment before long but is fine for a short stay
