(Payment may also be taken at Okarito Kayaks or Okarito Boat Tours by eftpos or credit card between 8 AM & 5 PM) Change is available for showers at all local businesses.
THIS CAMPGROUND IS MANAGED BY THE OKARITO COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION AND MONITORED DAILY FOR YOUR COMFORT AND CONVENIENCE.
FIRES ARE ALLOWED WITHIN THE PITS PROVIDED ONLY, DRIFTWOOD CAN BE GATHERED FROM THE BEACH, ALL WATER TAPS PROVIDE SUPERB DRINKING WATER (ARTESIAN WELL SOURCE FOR THE ENTIRE VILLAGE)
PLEASE LEAVE YOUR SITE TIDY AND WITHOUT A TRACE FOR THE ENJOYMENT OF OTHERS AND RESPECT FOR OUR ENVIRONMENT
Dogs! Are welcome provided they are under strict control at all times and NEVER left unattended or cause a disturbance.
Okarito is an important birding area with NZs rarest Kiwi as well as little blue penguin and many more species, some very rare please respect our need to protect them -thank you!

Beautiful campsite. The Old couple who runs it are very kind and helpful! Nice showers for only 2 dollars. Very good phone reception and nice common area to charge devices for free. Defo will be going back

Fantastic little site. Tiny town and smallish campsite but beautiful. A few activities in the town (kayaking and some hikes) can keep you busy for a day or so. And the beach is nice with big tidal pool to swim in. There is free Wi-Fi that is ok but gets slow in the evening with everyone on it. Good facilities with hot showers for 2 dollars per 4 minutes. Nice views of the snowy peaks and the ocean.

Quite place with friendly host. Nice tent spots apart from the car and campers. Simple kitchen (no cooking places two sinks, no warm water) with grill (1NZD). Two showers for 2 NZD o.k.. Simple toilets. Close to KIWI experience. Nice walks in neighbourhood. Close to the beach. Sandflies present.

Delightful campsite right on the sea shore amongst the harakeke. At $15/night per person real value for money. There is an open shelter with a fridge and covered space for cooking. Helps to have cash and $2 coins for showers in case the host is away for the day.
