Very pleased. Value for money.

My partner and I were 'passing through' (Queenstown to Hororta) and decided to stop, break up the drive. The only other options in town at short notice were $190+ per night, but this was just $100 for a double room with own en suite. We arrived late and key was left out for us, as promised. Room was neat and tidy, warm, spotlessly clean including communal areas. Met the owner very briefly in the morning, and he was friendly and helpful about the next leg of our journey. For this price point one really can't complain, and I think the stay was excellent value for money. Thanks for having us, briefly.

Location is good, close to everything, and the front desk was friendly when actually there.
The rooms were cosy, and the beds fairly comfortable, but ours had a faulty heater in the main living space, so had to use bedroom wall mounted heater to heat the entire unit.
Water pressure was not great for showers, and the walls very thin, we were getting bangs and thumps from both units either side of us most of the night.

Amazing place, close to the town and amenities, nice beds, good price. Low score on service as they didn't have to do anything. Highly recommend for a visit to the area and be close to the pub!

The rooms at this place are cheap for a reason. Next to nothing for cooking utensils. Showers were good, but having wet towels for 3 days due to room service not changing them. Beds and pillows feel like they’ve been around since early 2000. But the arrogance from the owner was the worst part of the stay. He treated a small group of us aged 25 like we were 16 on our first trip away from home inspecting our room each day complaining about towels hung over doors when there is no where to hang towels in the room and complains about having 4 fishing rods in the room.

No power in our room upon entering and had to stay lights-out. Owner is prideful and will blame you for problems as if you caused them. Doesn’t take accountability. If there is no power in the rooms often, perhaps should have a night-shift employee to sort out maintenance issues. Toilets run out of toilet paper every night too. No security whatsoever as the doors to the blocks are left open 24/7 free for anyone to walk into. Makes you feel unsafe in the middle of the night. In need of a renovation. Cant wait to see what the owner replies to my review as he seems to reply to anything under 3 stars. Find somewhere else to stay if you want to ensure you are comfortable and feel safe. If you don’t care about comfort, customer service, and things in the room working as they are intended, by all means, stay here
