The location of the hotel is nice. There is a sea view and it is not far from the restaurants and stores.
The room is in need of renovation. The mirror in the bathroom is broken and the doors for the balcony are broken(rusted) and cannot be locked! (on the ground floor!) The safe is not mounted on the wall and can be easily carried away!

If you do not reserve in the restaurant you wait more than an hour for the food and it was not even warm!

The service staff is very friendly and helpful! The service staff is the best in the whole hotel.

The price-performance ratio is not right at all!

During our time in the Galapagos, Iguana Crossing was our favorite hotel. The room was gorgeous and offered the best view ever. We loved the pool and the restaurant and used both frequently while we were there. We really appreciated the access to the beach, them providing fresh drinking water, and the delicious complimentary breakfasts every morning. Jonathan helped us a lot while we were there; he was very kind and helpful. We would absolutely stay here again!

PROS: Very attractive building right across from the beach
CONS: The inside needs updating; the towels were tired and unraveling; no lock on the patio door. The staff was poorly trained, to put it mildly. We were initially given a rm on the 3rd floor (no elevator, we're fit but not young) and when we asked to be moved to first floor, the manager was very put out about it (tho hotel wasn't full by a long shot). The food was edible but not good (eg bland over-cooked fish).
This was the only disappointing hotel of our 3 wk trip and was absolutely not worth the money.

I think this may be the first bad review I’ve ever written, but I think others should know our experience. We had a great time at all of our other four hotels we stayed at during our trip to Ecuador and Galapagos. I splurged one night for my husband’s birthday and was hoping to end our trip on a high note at what seemed like Isabela’s best resort. We quickly wished we did not leave our other resort when we arrived. The resort is indeed beautiful don’t get me wrong. I feel as though they care more about the esthetics then hiring friendly or helpful workers. Besides the maintenance man who was very friendly, everyone else was off putting and over charged for everything that other hotels helped with. As I did not have good WiFi on the islands for every other ferry I had gone on or taxi the hotels we were staying at handled it for us no problem. When asking for help at iguana crossing it was like we were inconveniencing them and they charged us 22 percent tax for things. I hadn’t paid any (tax) the entire time I was there. The girls at the front desk had awful attitudes which was a stark contrast to how friendly everyone had been everywhere else we went. The shower and sink situation as others have noted is very annoying. We had to hold it down for each other just to wash our hands or face. I had a much better experience a few doors down in Isabela for half the price in a very beautiful hotel right on a perfect part of the beach.

Excellently located hotel. The ocean view rooms have an amazing view on the ocean. Beds are comfortable and spacious. As others have highlighted, the water in the shower and bathroom is a bit awkward: hot water takes several minutes to come out and one had to press the button every 5 seconds - this is both annoying and paradoxically wasteful for a water-saving system. Room prices are also on the high end. But looking at the big picture, everything is beautiful and the owner and staff are welcoming and kind. Breakfast is generous and the omelette in particular is excellent. Would recommend if you visit Isabela!
