Elan Hotel

A little surprised this is a 3star hotel.

The beds are hard as a rock. Old spring mattress for sure. At least the room we were in. Probably the worse night sleep. My husband and I have bad backs so it was definitely not ideal for us.

Parking is a challenge, you have to call ahead of time to have them open the gate.

Staff is mostly friendly but seem kind of…spacey? But that’s not a big deal.

We missed the complimentary happy hour by 15 minutes 👎 it ends at 7:30, so fyi.

Tried to get a cup of coffee from the machine and it ended up looking like dirty water more than coffee. I did only try the decaf and gave up. So, the other coffees might be good.

Location is the best thing and not too expensive for the area either. Great restaurants and within walking distance of cedar Sinai.

Would definitely not stay here again, only because of the quality of the mattress. A good nights sleep is vital, so no way we could do that again.

As far as 3-star hotels go, the Elan is great. No pool, no gym, etc. but we needed a place to stay, close to Cedar-Sinai and this place was a great value. Lots of great places to eat within walking distance. The Beverly Center “mall” is a couple blocks away.

Rooms were clean. We got a Junior Suite which had a king bed and a pullout sofa bed. The sofa bed was surprisingly nice, clean, and gave us a nice sitting area when stowed away.

There was complimentary happy hour every evening, complimentary coffee all day, and a decent seating area with 2 tv’s in the lobby.

Parking was reasonable ($26/day on an internet special) and secure. Note, it’s a small parking lot under the building and has “tandem” parking spots. We didn’t mind the tandem parking because my parents travelled with us and we switched spots without issue.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The Elan is a great choice if you’re looking for no frills accommodations at a great value, especially for the area.

We are pleased with the hotel overall. The room are clean, and the staff is professional. Are main complaint being the beds are uncomfortable. Whatever profits are left after taxes, etc. a portion should be used to replace the beds.

Down graded to only 1 bed when reserved for 4 people prior. No roll away bed. Dirty. The bar is a man behind a cart with canned beer. The front desk then charged us $39 for parking(desk said was complementary) Called to be let in the garage 🙄 he refused to let me in for a lengthy amount of time putting me on hold. By far 1 of the worst hotel services in all my travels hands down.
